The October 14, 2008 federal election produced very little real change nationally, but marked several milestones in the Green Party story in Durham.

Firsts

• Earned the votes of 6,041 people, up 6.8 percentage points to 11.4% from the 2006 election
• Broke the 10% barrier for partial refund of campaign expenses
• Finished ahead of the NDP
• The most donations ever
• The most volunteers ever
