She served for a number of years on the faculty of Kent State University’s Public Policy Institute. June is an active community volunteer and advocate for environmental sustainability issues.

June acknowledges the complexity of the environmental crisis now facing us. "We need to look at this challenge holistically, appreciating the economic, social, and environmental connections and impacts as we move from talk to action. We need to be aggressive with our efforts, with all levels of government working hard and keeping focus on the target. At the same time we need to take personal responsibility, doing what we can in our families, the communities in which we live, and the places we work or go to school, taking personal responsibility for the future."

June was born and raised in Montreal, second of 4 children. Her love for sport and kids lead to her become a physical education teacher. Her life has taken her to many parts of Canada and Ontario, including Edmonton, Halifax, Thunder Bay, London, and now Uxbridge where she has lived for 16 years. Highlights for her family, her husband Lee, her children and 5 going on 6 grandchildren. "If I’d known being a grandmother was so much fun, that’s what I would have said I wanted to be when I grew up… I guess I finally grew up."

Education highlights include an undergraduate degree in physical education, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, and a 2-year externship in Brief and Narrative Therapy. Her career has evolved from teaching, coaching, and sport administration to organizational development consulting and now counseling individuals and families. For the past 20 years she has been passionate about building sustainable communities and has devoted much of her personal/volunteer time to that end. Highlights of this work include spearheading the Global Action Plan for the Earth in Canada and serving on its international board, being on the Kent State University Public Policy Institute faculty for a number of years, attending an International Civil Society Workshop hosted by the Kettering Foundation, being an actionist/activist/advocate for many sustainable development initiatives/challenges. She has a deep interest in the arts and local history.
