On Sun December 7, 2008, protests will take place across Canada as part of a global mobilization to stop the climate crisis. These protests will occur as world leaders are gathering for the next UN climate talks in Poznan, Poland. At this crucial time, we must demand that the Canadian government not only meet its Kyoto commitments, but also work towards a successor to Kyoto - we need a comprehensive treaty, to stop climate chaos now.

Across Canada various groups are organizing protests. We are not organizing an event in Durham but I encourage you to at least talk to some friends. The Climate Crisis is far more important issue that the economic crisis that will be forgotten in a year or two. Climate change is here now and for the next 500 years and can only get much worse with out unprecedented action.
