Executives from both the federal EDA and the Ontario CA meet together. The meeting is structured as first a committee meeting of all members of the EDA and CA executive, then formal meetings of each executive. The committee meeting is an informal discussion where recommendations are developed for approval by the formal executive meetings.
Members of the CA and EDA are welcome to attend the meetings and may participate informally in the committee discussions. Supporters who are not members are welcome to attend and introduce themselves at meetings.
Scheduling Guidelines
In general, the executive meets every fourth Thursday of the month, alternating between south (Clarington) and north (Scugog-Uxbridge). The locations are usually quiet coffee houses or pubs, to be announced a week or two in advance.
Exceptions:
— December: the fourth Thursday is too close to the Holidays and there is too much going on around that time of year;
— Writ periods: During election writ periods, the association becomes dormant and all hands are working on the campaign. During federal elections, the Ontario association continues to function, and vice-versa for Ontario elections;
— The September executive meeting is cancelled because of the federal candidate nomination meeting.
